Metal One Nexus was created through the merger of two core companies of the Metal One Group: Metal One Specialty Steel and Metal One Steel Products.

Asahi Steel Co., Ltd.

  • November 1917
  • Hakama Steel Shoten Co., Ltd. founded.
  • November 1943
  • Hakama Steel Shoten incorporated into joint stock company, and later renamed Hakama Kozai Inc.
  • June 1970
  • Company renamed Asahi Steel Co., Ltd.

MC Metalworks Co., Ltd.

  • December 1961
  • Ryotetsu Inc. established.
  • February 1993
  • MC Metalworks Co., Ltd. established.
  • April 2002
  • Ryotetsu Inc. and MC Metalworks merge to form MC Metalworks Co., Ltd.

Ryoyo Steel Center Co., Ltd.

  • May 1972
  • Ryoyo Steel Center Co., Ltd. established.

Metal One Specialty Steel Corporation

  • July 2005
  • Asahi Steel Co., Ltd., MC Metalworks Co., Ltd., and Ryoyo Steel Center Co., Ltd. merge to form Metal One Specialty Steel Corporation.
  • January 2007
  • Capital increased to 500 million yen.
  • November 2007
  • Osaka Headquarters relocated to Higobashi.
  • April 2008
  • Company merges with Metal One’s specialty steel division.
  • March 2015
  • Tokyo Headquarters relocated to JP Tower in Marunouchi.
  • July 2016
  • Osaka Headquarters relocated to Nakanoshima Central Tower.
  • April 2026
  • Metal One Nexus corporation established.

Steel Products Corporation

  • December 1969
  • Nissho Iwai Steel Center Corporation established.
  • July 1980
  • Company renamed NIK Metal Corporation.
  • October 1982
  • NI Steel Products Co., Ltd. established to oversee area east of Nagoya.
  • January 2004
  • NIK Metal Corporation and NI Steel Products merge to form Metal One Steel Products Corporation.
  • July 2004
  • Structural steel and ferrous raw materials operations spun off and transferred to Metal One Structural Steel & Resource Corporation (today’s MM&KENZAI Corporation).
  • January 2005
  • Tokyo area stainless steel sheet business operations transferred to Stainless One Corporation.
  • January 2006
  • Company takes over wire rod operations of Metal One Tohoku Corporation and establishes Tohoku Branch.
  • January 2009
  • Specialty steel business operations transferred to Metal One Specialty Steel Corporation, and Nagoya and Osaka area stainless steel sheet business operations transferred to Sus-Tech Corporation.
  • April 2010
  • Fukuoka Branch opened.
  • April 2013
  • Shares in Nifast Shanghai, Nifast Hungary, and Nifast India transferred from Metal One Corporation.
  • April 2015
  • Shares in Nifast Shanghai, Nifast Hungary, and Nifast India transferred to Metal One Corporation.
  • July 2016
  • Osaka Headquarters relocated to Nakanoshima Central Tower.
  • August 2016
  • Kyushu Sales Office relocated to Fukuoka Tenjin Building.

  • Tokyo Headquarters relocated to JP Tower in Marunouchi.
